Group Business Software and Certus Solutions Announce Regional Partnership Agreement

GBS Transformer now available for customers in Australia and New Zealand

August 29, 2011 – London, EnglandGroup Business Software (GBS) announced today they have signed a Regional Master Partnership agreement with Certus Solutions Ltd to market, sell and support GBS Transformer throughout Australia and New Zealand.  In addition, Certus will significantly help grow the GBS Transformer business by training, certifying and enabling partners in the region.  Certus is IBM’s largest Australasian partner with over 160 employees in seven locations.  They deliver full end-to-end services across the entire IBM portfolio.

Organizations are moving away from the traditional delivery of applications to their end users, to subscription and self-service models, with an emphasis on mobility.  It is estimated that by 2014, 40% of all new business applications will be delivered that way.  Lotus Notes is no exception, but the problem has been the huge costs in time and money to rewrite the applications.  In addition, most organizations do not really understand the full make-up of their Lotus Notes portfolio.  And finally, there are risks associated with a complete data migration project and the retraining of all users on these new applications.

Transformer 2.0 helps enterprises move portfolios of Lotus Notes applications to the Web without touching the data.  Organizations now have a set of analytical and executable processes that can transform their existing Lotus Notes client applications to Web pages, where they can be run in the cloud, on mobile devices, and be more easily integrated with social media platforms.  Transformer provides the continuity of the past with all the new benefits that are now available in the latest release of Lotus Domino.

"We see this as a major business opportunity in our region to address the growing need of enterprises to migrate their Notes applications to the Web and mobile devices,” says Annette Henry, General Manager, Web and Collaboration Services  at Certus.  “The new XPages capabilities have enabled modernizing Notes applications to run on the Web.  Having a systematic set of processes and software that can easily transform our customers’ Lotus Notes portfolio to modern Web 2.0 based applications is a huge win for our clients.”

With this agreement, GBS Transformer provides the catalyst and accelerator while Certus provides the expertise to address this pervasive challenge.  This powerful combination will ensure that Lotus customers achieve their objectives with considerable time and cost savings.

“Certus is a great fit for us given their singular focus on IBM software and their wide presence in both Australia and New Zealand,” says John Grogan, Regional Manager, APAC for GBS.  "We are seeing a  high demand from organisations wanting to migrate.   With Certus' expertise, reputation, and partner network GBS Transformer can meet this growing demand”.
