1. CeBIT 2010: The highlights
GROUP presented two solutions in Hall 2 at CeBIT this year: email
management and cloud computing. Both topics proved to be real visitor
magnets with the Email, Archiving and Administration Division at GROUP
Technologies attracting considerable interest in the areas of email
archiving and email encryption. The increasingly acute legal issues
surrounding email and the rising demand for data protection were the
primary concerns for these visitors to the GROUP stand. iQ.Suite
KeyManager has been positioned as an appropriate addition to the
iQ.Suite encryption family and the first pilot customers have signed up
for this new solution for certificate and key management.
Cloud computing was another leading topic for the IT sector in Hannover.
Many companies will see the orientation of their IT infrastructure
defined by terms such as Software as a Service and on-demand
applications. GROUP Live,
the Division for Cloud Computing and Platform-as-a-Service, was
represented for the first time at CeBIT and introduced its flexible
cloud platform. Numerous potential customers and representatives from
politics and business enthused about the innovative solution for
cost-efficient operation, management and monitoring of application
environments. GROUP's PaaS offer was awarded the IT INNOVATION Award by
the Mittelstand Initiative at a live event held on the Thursday during
CeBIT.

6. iQ.Suite Tips and Tricks for Lotus Domino: Filtering emails with an identical sender and recipient
This has doubtless already happened to you: You receive an email which
has your own address as the apparent sender. Emails with an identical
sender and recipient are often spam or are not meaningful messages.
It is possible to set up a formula rule to filter them out and solve the problem. Read here in the current edition of our Tips and Tricks for exact instructions on how to do this.
7. Exchange/SMTP corner: Backup-optimised data storage for iQ.Suite Store
The benefits of our archiving solution iQ.Suite Store are convincing: it
uses a defined set of rules to archive business relevant emails in a
central store on a time-controlled basis, thus relieving the strain on
your infrastructure.
It also makes sense to separate content that must be archived from
unwanted data and to sort and structure stored emails. An intelligent
method of classification allows content to be separated into different
archive "pots". This improves response times and saves time generally
throughout the processes.
iQ.Suite Store 5.0 now offers the option of cutting back-up times by
structuring data by certain criteria such as "year/month/day". The following article describes how you can accomplish this sorting exercise.
