ISG Provider Lens positions DLP portfolio of GBS in leader quadrant
The ISG Provider Lens study “Cyber Security Solutions & Services 2018” once again rated GBS as one of the top providers in the category and positioned it as a leader in the magic quadrant for data leakage prevention. The focus is on the email management solution iQ.Suite, which is available for Microsoft Exchange, Office 365 and IBM Domino Verse. This recognition from the independent market research and consulting company ISG certifies that GBS offers highly attractive products and services, and is another proof for its competitive advantage in the security sector.
The study, which evaluates more than 80 of the most important providers on the German market in eight categories, says: "To account for changing business collaboration, GBS has advanced their competences to go beyond email security; for instance, the provider, as a member of the BULPROS Group, can provide the expertise required to secure collaboration environments and applications". In this current study, GBS especially convinced the jury with the solution iQ.Suite DLP, which makes it possible to identify sensitive information in emails and attachments, to detect behavior anomalies in email transmission and to block suspicious emails before they are sent.
The ISG analysts were impressed by the special feature allowing 4-eyes reviews of certain emails, which have been identified at an earlier stage. A predefined person, such as the respective supervisor or the data protection officer for example, checks the email before it is released for final transmission.
The question of data protection and in particular processing of personal data, has recently gained much more importance in the context of the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into force in May this year. "More than ever before, companies of all sizes are now required to ensure that personal data is identified and protected, and that there is control over data transfers. iQ.Suite DLP provides detailed reporting on security incidents, enabling companies to report data breaches under the GDPR in a timely manner, thus complying with the increased legal requirements," summarizes Robert Becker, Product Manager Security & Collaboration at GBS Europa GmbH.
