GBS with DLP portfolio again leader

GBS with DLP portfolio again leader in ISG Provider Lens Study 2019/2020 – new: Multi-Tenant Edition

This year, GBS was once again named one of the leading security solutions and services providers on the data leakage prevention market in the ISG Provider Lens study "Cyber Security Solutions & Services 2019/2020". The focus of the positioning in the Leader Quadrant was on the email management solution iQ.Suite DLP Advanced. In the study, which evaluates more than 80 of the most important providers on the German market, ISG saw the strengths of the GBS solution above all in the cost-effective and central management of multiple tenants with the iQ.Suite Multi-Tenant Edition, e.g. for corporations with subsidiaries or companies with a large-scale distributed email infrastructure.

Another special feature of the GBS solution is the four-eyes principle review: All outgoing emails are analyzed in real time, suspicious emails are automatically identified and their transmission is stopped. Afterwards these emails undergo a four-eyes review by a predefined person such as the respective supervisor or the company's data protection officer. After they have been checked, the emails are finally either released or blocked. In addition, the ISG study expressly praises GBS for the compliance with the legal requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that entered into force in May 2018.

iQ.Suite major releases available

iQ.Suite major releases available – “SigSpoof-Gap” closed

As announced, the new versions of the email management platform iQ.Suite 18.0 for Microsoft Exchange/SMTP and iQ.Suite 22.0 for IBM Notes/Domino were released at the end of June.

We would like to especially emphasize the most important highlights of the new major releases:

iQ.Suite MSX Multi-Tenant Edition is fully integrated with iQ.Suite 18.0 MSX/SMTP and is the result of our development in the last year. It makes it possible to cost-effectively and centrally manage multiple tenants, e.g. for corporations and their affiliated subsidiaries as well as companies with a large-scale distributed email infrastructure.

The new major release of iQ.Suite 22.0 for IBM Notes/Domino comes with a new sandbox architecture for iQ.Suite converters and contains setup packages for Domino 10 versions. The update installation has also been improved.

We have responded to the SigSpoof bug. Researchers from the Münster University of Applied Sciences and the Ruhr University Bochum managed to bypass the email account signature verification under certain conditions, attacking it and thereby faking signed messages, for example: "Johnny, you are fired!”.

We have now improved the following job options for both iQ.Suite 18 and iQ.Suite 22.0:

  • The signer is verified and his email address is noted down
  • Errors in case of failed address comparison are reported
  • Signature verification is possible without removing it
  • Information about the result of a successful address comparison is available

The new versions of the email management solution iQ.Suite are available in the download area on the GBS website.

Non-recursive Zip bombs: iQ.Suite ensures security

A programmer has developed a new "Zip bomb", which can be described as a malware. During unpacking, it increases the size of the zip file billions of times thus filling the entire hard disk space.

The iQ.Suite with integrated AV scanner and unpacker is not affected by this, because defined unpacking depths and size limitations ensure security by aborting the unpacking process and sending error messages. more>>
