CeBIT 2014: GBS AppDesigner for the intuitive creation of web applications receives Microsoft SharePoint connection

Karlsruhe / Hannover

Social business will have surpassed cloud computing by 2016. Consequently, this new type of collaboration in companies represents one of the most important trends. According to the assessment of Experton market researchers, the market for social business solutions will grow by an average of 50 percent within the next two years. The trailblazers driving this success are solutions such as GBS AppDesigner, which the collaboration experts at GROUP Business Software AG have further developed and expanded by new functions for this year’s CeBIT.

The solution, which Experton has placed in the ‘Leader Quadrant`, allows businesses to intuitively create platform-independent, web-based social business applications, without requiring any programming knowledge. “With GBS AppDesigner, we are revolutionising web application development 2.0 for businesses that wish to create new applications, or make existing ones ready for the coming decade, for example, in order to make them usable on mobile devices such as smartphones or tablet PCs”, explains  Constanze Zarth, COO at GBS. A highlight in this context is GBS AppDesigner’s mobile connection, which will be featured as an individual app for smartphones and tablets for the first time at CeBIT.

In addition to the existing interconnection of IBM Domino/Connections and Java EE, GBS’ innovation leaders will present AppDesigner’s interplay with Microsoft SharePoint for the first time at CeBIT. “With this integration, we continue to expand the platform-independent nature of the developed web applications and comprehensively protect the investments of the users. This way, we are laying the foundation for the coexistence of different application worlds or for future platform changes”, stresses Andreas Richter, GBS VP Marketing Europe. The innovation makes applications and data consistently usable in modern collaboration and social business platforms. It will be presented to visitors to the trade fair at GBS Stand A30 in hall 2 through application scenarios.
