Email Security at CeBIT 2014: GBS speeds up Data Protection and Encryption in Electronic Communication
Karlsruhe / Hanover
It´s all about data protection. Just as well at this year's CeBIT, which takes place from 10 to 14 March in Hannover. The email experts from GROUP Business Software AG (GBS) will be presenting solutions to increase confidentiality in email communication at stand A30 in hall 2. "Numerous conversations with our customers have shown that over the last few months companies have started to reassess the value of electronic communication. As a result, they are increasingly using comprehensive email encryption," explains Herbert Reder, EVP Sales at GBS.
To offer technology suitable for everyday use, GBS and its iQ.Suite Crypt Pro and iQ.Suite WebCrypt Pro solutions are easy-to-use email encryption solutions for B2B and B2C communication for IBM Notes/Domino and Microsoft Exchange/SMTP. They improve confidentiality and protect content from unauthorised access. On top of that, key management is also simplified, for example by integrating trust centers such as Signtrust from Deutsche Post. With iQ.Suite WebCrypt Pro, encrypted communication is web-based so recipients don't have to invest in an encryption solution.
GBS will be unveiling its iQ.Suite Watchdog FileSafe at CeBIT. This innovative security solution will dramatically simplify the sending of confidential and large email attachments. Based on IDGard technology from GBS partner Uniscon, Watchdog FileSafe doesn't actually send the attachment with the email but includes a link instead. The file itself is available to the recipient to download from a highly secure cloud area of the German data center. The recipient simply clicks on the link, logs into the cloud area and can then download the attachment. This not only improves security when sending file attachments but also relieves strain on the email infrastructure. "Email attachments often contain content critical to business such as contracts, calculations or other confidential data. iQ.Suite Watchdog FileSafe is the perfect user-friendly and secure solution for these scenarios and can be integrated as an extension to our proved iQ.Suite Watchdog security solution," says Andreas Richter.
With focus on email and work-life balance, the GBS experts at CeBIT will also be addressing the vicious circle of email flood and private life. Even though employees have not been able to escape from business emails during their leisure for a long time now. The increasing popularity of mobile devices shows that the topic is oppressively current. To allow employees to switch off when they are not at work, the iQ.Suite from GBS channels the flood of emails. An ingenious out-of-office management system and a time-based system of rules allows incoming emails to be automatically withheld when the employee is enjoying leisure time, only delivering them on the next working day. Other options include only forwarding very urgent emails or those from particular senders. GBS is therefore supporting customers to maintain the work-life balance of their employees, which will ultimately increase productivity.
