ISG Provider Lens Study 2018: GBS awarded Leader status in data leakage prevention
Karlsruhe , Germany
The ISG study “Provider Lens Germany 2018 - Security Services & Solutions” rated GBS as one of the top security solution and service providers in the data leakage prevention sector.
In the recently released 2018 study, comparing providers in the security environment, GBS convinced the jury with iQ.Suite, its email solution for Microsoft Exchange, Office 365 and IBM Domino Verse and was placed in the Leader quadrant. A step further than the last position: In their Security Vendor Benchmark 2016, the Experton Group evaluated iQ.Suite and awarded GBS “Rising Star” recognition.
“Growing digitalisation in the business world has made effective security within IT infrastructures more important than ever before. Worldwide attacks by encryption trojans earlier this year and massive hacker attacks have plainly shown that businesses are in the firing line of cyber criminals and vividly demonstrated just how dangerous the situation is for many companies. IT security has become a mandatory component of every business model,” says Ivaylo Slavov, Managing Director of GBS Europa GmbH, referring to the excellent rating of his company.
During the research process, over a period of several months, ISG examined the performance of security solution and service providers in Germany. The study included eight distinct market categories and evaluated over one hundred relevant providers. Ratings were determined by portfolio attractiveness and competitive strength based on multiple criteria. GBS went to the head of the class with iQ.Suite in the data leakage prevention category. It was not only the 4-eyes review and the recognition of sensitive contents in email texts and attachments but also the analysis of irregular behaviour in email correspondence in the solution “Made in Germany” that impressed the analysts at ISG.
“We are proud of our leader position in the security field. The continued technological development of our solution in recent months and our focus on improving data security were and continue to be important factors contributing to our success. The importance of data protection keeps growing, especially with an eye to the upcoming EU-DSGVO (EU General Data Protection Regulation). Recognition and avoidance of data protection incidents is a major factor in data protection and iQ.Suite achieves just that,” adds Andreas Richter, member of Executive Management Marketing at GBS.
Data theft is a growing problem, forcing businesses to provide reliable security for their digital communication. iQ.Suite DLP addresses this issue: Adhering to current data protection regulations, outbound emails are evaluated precisely. Content analysis and fingerprint technology are used to examine email text and file attachments. With advanced detection of behaviour anomalies, discrepancies which may indicate data theft are identified. The software analyses current email use and compares it to standard usage. Anomalies may include a sudden surge in email volume or the inexplicable sending of large quantities of data. iQ.Suite DLP ensures a high level of protection, especially when paired with further multi-level security features available in iQ.Suite such as anti-virus, anti-spam, anti-phishing or intelligent sandbox technology to repel trojan attacks.
As a member of the “TeleTrusT – Bundesverband IT-Sicherheit e.V.” association, GBS products fulfil the association’s high demands on IT security and data protection. A stated goal of the email experts at GBS is to develop pioneering solutions in the field of messaging and to provide these solutions, platform independently, whether on premises or in the cloud.
