CeBIT 2015: GBS Presents Solutions for More Transparency and Mobililty in Email Management

According to Radicati Group, 109 billion business emails were sent and received worldwide in 2014. This number is projected to increase to 140 billion by the year 2018. For such high volumes, transparency, security and management become increasingly significant. A trend study published by TÜV TRUST IT for 2015 stipulates that IT systems that facilitate better security transparency for management will become more and more important.
The problem with many existing IT systems, however, is their technical nature. This nature makes them less suitable to serve as the basis for decision-making with respect to improving the management of email communication. With iQ.Suite Cockpit, GBS has now developed a new solution that gives administrators insight into the status of their email communication at a glance. “The goal is to introduce a transparent overview of the secure and legally compliant use of email communication across the company, in order to introduce safety measures as soon as possible. Users of iQ.Suite Cockpit are able to check the effectiveness and security of their email management solution at any time. It is possible to check, for example, how many emails are cleared of malicious code or to what extent the infrastructure is strained. This way, conclusions about the current threat level can be drawn,” states Andreas Richter, GBS’ EVP Marketing & Product Management about some of features of the new statistical analysis tool. Since Cockpit also provides a complete overview of all incoming and outgoing emails, small deviations from the normal email flow can be easily detected.
The resulting statistics have both a history and a real-time option. As part of iQ.Suite’s WebClient, which ensures access to important iQ.Suite features as a Web 2.0 interface, Cockpit also runs on mobile devices, such as tablets and smartphones.
GBS also drives the expansion of the mobile app portfolio. The iQ.Suite app, which was previously only available for Apple iOS, is now available for Android. This provides users of the leading mobile platforms with access to critical spam protection features, such as email quarantine with blacklists and whitelists.
Also new: the iQ.Suite Clerk App, which allows individual absences to be managed in email communication. For example, if a staff member is on vacation or becomes sick and consequently does not have access to an office PC, away messages can be activated or deactivated via smartphone and tablet. The iQ.Suite Clerk app will be available for Apple and Android devices.
